Janet Mock and Isis King

One of the recent episodes of “In the Life” has a terrific segment on issues confronting trans women, and trans women of color in particular.  Both Mock and King offer cutting edge political analyses regarding life for trans women and how US culture can’t seem to get beyond the DEEPLY ingrained transphobia. They also discuss the importance of being able to move the discussion beyond “Trans 101,” and the need for ordinary trans people to be “out,” although the risks involved, particularly for trans women, can be deadly.

It is a terrific discussion. I strongly urge you to share it with your family, friends and colleagues.
